This course is designed to build upon the foundational understanding of prime mover subsystems covered in Maintenance fundamentals. Students will study the gas and diesel internal combustion engines that serve as power plants for most agricultural, construction, and forestry machines. Students will deep dive into the world of pistons, intake valves, exhaust valves, camshafts, timing, ignition, cooling, and fuel systems. Maintenance Fundamentals training or experience is required prior to enrollment.
