“Hybrid” ABE/GED® Teacher (year-round, evening, 6-10 hours/week)
Instruction occurs in a multi-level class via a combination of in-person and remote delivery. Course materials and an effective web-based instructional supplement are available and must be utilized as part of the course. This is a new position, so this person will have an opportunity to learn and create a model that works for our students and our program. The successful candidate will be licensed in Elementary, Secondary or Adult Basic Education and be comfortable teaching the reading, math, science and social studies content necessary to prepare adult students for success on the Official GED® test. Starting rate of pay is $30/hour.
Trades Instructors Needed
Part-time evening trade instructors to teach in the Electrical, Plumbing, Welding, HVAC, and Automotive Technician Apprentice Programs starting in September. The school is also looking for a part-time instructor who can teach daytime or evening Welding this summer.
Minimum Qualifications: Possession of professional credentials (e.g. journeyperson papers and/or industry license or certification) as applicable, a minimum of 5 years of related professional experience, and three professional references. Prior teaching or training experience preferred. Offer of employment conditional upon professional references, negative TB test, and favorable criminal background check.
Skills Refresher/Computer Skills Teacher (year-round, daytime, 20-25 hours/week)
Instruction occurs in 3 separate multi-level classrooms of adult job seekers; classes meet at the Dover One Stop at the Blue Hen Corporate Center. This person will teach a total of 3 open entry classes each week to include basic reading/math skills refresher, basic computer skills and intermediate computer skills. Course materials are available. The teacher will provide whole group, small group and one-on-one instruction as needed. The successful candidate will be licensed in Elementary, Secondary or Adult Basic Education and be comfortable teaching reading, math, computer skills and digital literacy for adult job seekers and DOL clients. Starting rate of pay is $30/hour.
