An Apprenticeship is a structured training program that combines on the job experience with classroom instruction. It allows you to earn a wage while learning valuable skills in your chosen field. Polytech Adult Education provides the classroom training, while local companies provide the on-the-job training.
To apply for apprenticeship related training at Polytech, you’ll first need to sign up for an information session. During the session, you’ll learn about the programs we offer and have the opportunity to ask questions.
Anyone who is 16 years old or older can become a Registered Apprentice, provided they are sponsored by their employer that is located in, or pays taxes to, the State of Delaware.
Apprenticeships provide valuable hands-on experience, one-on-one mentorship, and wage increases as you advance through the program. Participants who complete the on the job and classroom requirements earn nationally-recognized journeyperson credentials that are accepted nationwide.
